Loren V. Stumpp

September 17, 1931 - September 15, 2019

Loren V. Stumpp Passed away peacefully 9/15/19 surrounded by family. Beloved son of Stanton and Gladys (nee Overmire); husband of Kathleen (nee Coleman) for 66 years; father of Loreen Dobos (Russell), Dennis (Claire Kindley), and Dana; grandfather of Jeremy Dobos (Deirdre), Jaimee Woodall (Jim), Jana Cook (Shane), and Hannah Stumpp (Nick Anderson); great-grandfather of Micaela, Aeden, Declan, Anya, Kieran, Raina, Nathan, Liam, Leah, and Ronan; brother of Eugene (Jeanne Marie)(both deceased), LaVonda Garn (Barney, deceased), Donelda Smith (Ron)(both deceased); uncle, great-uncle, friend and mentor of many. He also leaves behind his grand puppies and kitties.

After embarking on an Air Force career to become an F86 Fighter Pilot, he married his high school sweetheart at Nellis AFB in 1953. They traveled The States and the world returning to Ohio in 1961 three children richer. Loren was a salesman for Airco (Medina), Pitney Bowes (Toledo), and Buckeye Extrusion (Fostoria) before owning Executone of NW Ohio (Toledo) and Executone of Toronto and Indianapolis. He retired to the high desert of Tucson AZ adopting his loyal rescue dog, Sandy, and entertaining friends and family with patio BBQs and trips to desert museums, Mt Lemmon (for pie), and Mexico.

Loren loved his early experiences with farming (recapturing them in Amish country), piloting small aircraft post USAF, attending adult enrichment classes, patronizing the light opera, fraternizing with snack shop buddies, watching historical documentaries and old musicals, and sharing special places and events: Tony Pacos, Tucson Rodeo, Gem & Mineral and Air Shows, and traveling to Alaska for salmon fishing with “sons” Dennis and Russ and to Costa Rica and Russia with daughter Dana. He had been an avid outdoorsman. Loren had a heart for people, supporting many in their life pursuits. He loved animals, giving regularly to the Elephant Sanctuary. He adored children and sharing his knowledge of history, flying escapades, and “snakes and stuff” with his grand and great grandchildren.

Interment services will be attended by immediate family at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Rittman (Seville) OH.

Loren will be memorialized in an Open House Celebration of Life for all friends and family on Saturday, October 26, 2019 at his daughter’s home from 12-6pm with “Shared Memories” commencing at 2pm.

February 24, 1944 - September 16, 2019

Beloved husband of the late Charlene (Nee Horner); son of Raymond and Elsie (both deceased); brother of Barbara Bukas (Joseph , deceased); uncle of Victoria Papesh, Cheryl Hass (Toby), and Jeff; great uncle of Mike Bukas, Christopher Cronin (Maria), Taylor Hass, Amanda Papesh, Kara Whitson, and Nina Papesh; step-son of Nell Silvestro; great-great uncle and friend of many.

October 17, 1951 - September 11, 2019

Joyce A. Hachadourian (nee Hodge) Beloved wife of the late Gary; Dearest sister of Jeffrey Hodge (Georgette); Loving aunt of Garrett, Grant, and Troy; Dear cousin and friend of many; Joyce was a member of the University of Michigan Alumni Association. 

Service: Sunday, September 15, 2019 at 5:00 p.m. at Vito-Nero Funeral Home 6130 Turney Rd. (2 Blocks South of Rockside) where the family will receive friends on Sunday from 2 – 6 p.m.

Beloved husband of Christine (nee Gervasi); father of Johnny, Michael (Sydney), and Luke; brother of Paula Faubel (Craig) and Carey Fain (Jim); uncle of Patrick, Jenny, Mandy, and Brian. Duane enjoyed spending time outdoors watching the birds, but most of all he cherished spending time with his family.   

Service: Saturday, July 27, 2019 at 12:00 p.m. at Bedford Church of the Nazarene 365 Center Rd. Bedford, OH 44146. The family will receive friends at the church from 10-12:00 p.m. Burial will take place at Bedford Cemetery. 

Gloria Jean Karich

June 18, 1941 - July 13, 2019

Gloria Jean Karich (nee Smith), age 78, of Brooklyn Heights, OH, went to the Lord on Saturday, July 13, 2019 surrounded by her family and best friend.  She is survived by her husband, John Karich; daughters Denise Bamber (Bill), Colleen Simon (Jerry West); step-daughter Holly Ponomarenko; grandchildren Ryan Allen, Kristen Bamber (Mike McTighe), Samantha and Alexandra Ponomarenko; great grandchildren Ella, Cason and Brogan McTighe; brothers Dennis Smith (Lovie), Raymond Smith (deceased); lifelong friend, Barb Bugara.  Everyone who knew Gloria will miss her kindness, sense of humor and strength.

Sara A. Soltesz (nee Costanzo); beloved wife of Steve (deceased); mother of Steven (Faye) and Susan; grandmother of Michael and David; daughter of Sebastian and Marana (both deceased); sister of Louise Stulak (Jack), and the following deceased: Carmella, Sebastian, Frank, Louis, Anthony, Mary, and Sylvia; dear aunt and friend to many.  Sara was a long-time parishioner of St Therese Church, and volunteered for many years at Marymount Hospital.

William Joseph Petrovic

March 5, 1923 - June 28, 2019

William Joseph Petrovic, 96, passed away peacefully on June 28,2019 in his home in Beachwood, Ohio. He was born on March 5, 1923 in Willoughby, Ohio to Thomas and Mary JernejcicPetrovic. Bill grew up in Willoughby, Ohio. He graduated from Willoughby High School in 1941. After high school he attended Ohio University in Athens, Ohio where he began working on his degree in civil engineering. In May of 1943 he interrupted his college studies to enlist in the Army where heserved for 2 years with the 372ndEngineering Regiment and was the recipient of the European Service Medal, the Good Conduct Medal and the Bronze Service Star. He was discharged in November of 1945, having achieved the rank of Staff Sargeant. In 1946 Bill returned to Ohio University and completed his civil engineering degree.Bill went on to work for Cadillac Glass Company in Cleveland, Ohio for 40 years. He retired in 1991.  Bill married Margaret (Peg) Redlin in 1949 in University Heights, Ohio having met at Ohio University. They were happily married for 67 years. Peg passed away in February of 2017. Bill was a member of Gesu Parish and the Slovenian National Home. He enjoyed the outdoors and was the Scoutmasterat Gesu Church for 10 years.He also volunteered at the Cleveland Playhouse and was a docent at Lakeview Cemetery. Bill is survived byhis sister Marie Thielman of Wickliffe, Ohio; his son, William (Kathy), daughters Johanna Curson, Mary Bronza (Dave), Gretchen Calabrese, Kristina Jeswald; and grandchildren William Petrovic (Sarah), Angela and David Bronza, Carly and Chase Calabrese, Alyssa (Taylor), Nicole and Jessica Jeswald;and his nieces and nephews and other relatives.

A memorial service will be held at Gesu Church, University Heightson Thursday, July 11, 2019 at 10:00 a.m.  A visitation will be held in the Church lobby one hourprior to the memorial service. The family will be greeting friends and relatives at that time.Burial will follow at Lakeview Cemetery.
