Haifa M. Palazzo
September 1, 1951 - August 27, 2022
On August 27th, 2022, the world lost an angel. At 70 years young, Haifa Palazzo died peacefully in her sleep surrounded by her family. Haifa is survived by her loving husband of 53 years Michael Palazzo, her three sons, Michael, Dominick & Joseph (Cassandra) Palazzo, and her grandchildren, Nicholas, Gianna, Michael, Eric, Rocco & Roma Palazzo. She may have lost the battle with cancer, but she inspired the fighter in all of us. Her strength was boundless, her tenacity was immeasurable & she was an inspiration to everyone around her.
A loving wife, mother & nana, Haifa made her family feel safe and comforted & created magic in every moment. Whether cooking our favorite meal or showing us how to find shark teeth on the beach, she made moments extraordinary. We always felt we mattered immensely to her. Our childhood was magical; we watched as she brought that same magic to her grandchildren’s lives. From a successful make-up artist to the president of the PTA, she put her heart and soul into everything she did. She taught us that when you reach for the stars, you can land on the roof, but when you reach for the roof, you will never get off the ground. I could still see her looking down at me as a child singing, “Whatever Will Be, Will Be” (Que Sera, Sera) as she rubbed my cheek until I fell asleep. To say she will be missed by her family & friends is an understatement. The biggest thing we have learned from our parents is the meaning of true & unconditional love. She loved her family & friends deeply, and we never for a moment doubted her love for us. Her love was selfless and unassuming.
A mass will be held Saturday, September 10th at 10:00 a.m. at St. Martin of Tours Church, 14600 Turney Rd., Maple Hts., Ohio 44137. All are welcome as we honor the life of Haifa.
We Miss You
We cried when you passed away,
We still cry today.
Although we loved you dearly,
We couldn’t make you stay.
Your golden heart stopped beating,
Hard-working hands at rest,
God broke our hearts to prove to me
he only takes the best.
We love you!
