Service: Saturday January 24 at 12:30 p.m. at the Funeral Home and 1:00 p.m. at St. Martin of Tours Church.

DONALD E. GYURE

July 28, 1940 - January 18, 2015

Donald E. Gyure age 74 of Chardon. Beloved husband of 48 years to Penny (nee Mayle); Dearest father of Todd (Sandy); Dear brother of Daniel (Adele); Loving son of the late Andrew and Violet (nee Orosz). Donald was a Civil War buff. He loved dogs, the outdoors, boating, fishing, snowmobiling, and drag racing. He was a collector of classic cars and motorcycles.

Kenneth R. Meyers passed away on Sunday January 18, 2015 at the age of 76, with his family at his side. Beloved
Husband of 55 years to Carol (nee Kanta); Devoted father of Terri Black (Allen), Denise, and Ronald (Patti); Cherished grandfather of Alexandria and Ariana; Dear brother of William Sr. (Shirley) of Florida and Mary Ann; Dear uncle of many nieces and nephews. Kenneth was a resident of Euclid for 66 years. He worked many years in managerial positions. He was owner of Holiday Gulf East Service Station in Wickliffe. 

Private services will be held, inurnment at All Souls Cemetery.

SUE E. JENKINS

November 30, 1941 - January 13, 2015

Sue Ellen (Kerner) Jenkins, 73, of Concord Township, passed away peacefully Tuesday, January 13, 2015 at TriPoint Medical Center. She was born November 30, 1941 in Cleveland, the daughter of the late Joseph F. and Margaret A. (Majors) Kerner. She graduated from John Marshall High School, earned a Master of Library Science degree from Kent State University, and worked for Cuyahoga County Public Library, retiring from the Mayfield branch as a children’s librarian. She was a member of Mentor United Methodist Church and enjoyed ice skating, bicycling, reading, and traveling. She is survived by her children Sharon M. (John J. Paciorek) and Steven K. (Lisa Lewis-Jenkins); grandchildren Samuel L., Grace L., Sarah L., Claire E. Sharpnack and Spencer F. Sharpnack; brothers Joseph F. (Dorothy Davda) Kerner and Douglas B. (Carol) Kerner; and many cherished cousins, nieces and nephews. 

A service celebrating her life will be held 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 17 at Mentor United Methodist Church, 8600 Mentor Ave., Mentor, Ohio. Rev. Beverly Wrobel and Lisa Lewis-Jenkins will officiate the service followed by a luncheon reception. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions made to Mentor United Methodist Church.

HELEN MCGILL

May 9, 1923 - January 11, 2015


Helen P. McGill age 91 was a resident at the Lantern of Madison for the last 16 months. She is survived by daughter Patti (Bob) Kuchenbecker of Georgia, Rosemary Whitt, Gail (Steve) Handler of Painesville; Sister Betty Woodworth of Ashtabula; 8 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son John M. Connors, First husband John G. Connors, and second husband James McGill. Helen loved spending time with her grandchildren, she also enjoyed walking her dog in the parks, doing arts and crafts, and always doing the crossword puzzles. 

A memorial service is being planned for a later date at the Advent Lutheran Church 7985 Munson Rd. Mentor on the Lake, with Rev Steven Bond officiating. She will be laid to rest in Alexander Harper Memorial Cemetery in Unionville, OH. 

JACQUELINE L. RIPPIN

APRIL 6, 1943 - JANUARY 8, 2015

Jacqueline L. Rippen age 71, a 10 year resident of Grand River and former Mentor resident, died Janury 8, 2015, in Grand River. Jacqueline was born April 6, 1943, in Pennsylvania. She was a Nurse Supervisor, working for 40 years and retired for the last 15 years. She is survived by her daughter Michelle; son Robert (Allison) of Texas; granddaughter Abigail; siblings Randall, Kenneth, Kathryn, Nancy, Robin, Amy, and Ramona.

 

MICHAEL J. HOBACK

July 21, 1962 - January 1, 2015

Michael J. Hoback, 52, of Mentor, passed away
January 1, 2015 in Painesville from complications of Huntingtons Disease. He was born July 21, 1962 in Cleveland. Michael was a welder at Coe Manufacturing for 16 years. Michael was a member of the Olds Club of America, in the US Navy Reserves, a Seabee, he did restoration welding with his father in law on the U.S.S. Cod Submarine in Cleveland. He is survived by his children, Nicole Marie Hoback, John Michael Hoback; mother,Constance Hoback (nee Costello); brother, Paul Hoback; former wife and best friend, Michelle VanSchie (Jim); In-laws, John and Grace Nero, Kim and Mitch Vilcheck,Grace and Mike DeLillo, Angie Nero, John and Vicki Nero;nieces and nephews, Todd March, Alexia Ingwer, Ashley Briganti, Michaela Nero, Grace DeLillo, Angelina DeLillo,Noel Nero, Chad Ingwer,and Craig Ingwer. He was preceded in death by his father, Garland Hoback.
