Robert Barto "Bob"

October 20, 1935 - December 12, 2021

Bob Barto age 86 of Garfield Heights, OH passed away on December 12, 2021. Bob was born in Ward, WV on October 20, 1935 to Steve and Pearl Barto (nee Boka) who both preceded him in death. Bob is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Marlene (nee Burncheck); daughter Janet Smith (Gene); grandsons Jimmy Hanna (Becca) and Andy Hanna (Renee); great grandson James Hanna; sister Janet Barto; many nieces and nephews; and dear friend John Szuch; He was also preceded in death by his brothers Steve Barto, Gene Barto, Joe Barto and sister Anabelle Kerner. Bob loved his family and detailing cars. He got great joy when he spent time with his great grandson. He was fun-loving and loved telling jokes, but sometimes would laugh before he could get to the punchline. He will be deeply missed but will be remembered by him dancing to the song “Sugar Sugar” and doing shots of blackberry brandy.

Per his wishes there will be no services.

Let’s not forget Jaxson Parker, Bob was his GP (grandpa). Devoted companion to Brick, Bella, Bubbles, and the Porch Pets. Bobby’s hobbies were bonfires that melted the siding off of houses, fishing, fish fries, pets, online gaming, camping, and aggravating his brothers. He was more than a good man and a friend. Just as his brothers, he was the type of person to stop and help a stranded car/person, and always looked out for his neighbors. When you met Bobby, you became a part of his family. He was a friend to many and loved by all. Bobby has left us to go fishing with his grandpa.
