Dorothy Tomasek (Dot, Dottie), a longtime resident of Warrensville Hts, passed away on March 9, 2018 at Jennings Center for Older Adults. Beloved wife of the late Pete Tomasek; mother of Pete Tomasek (Ann), Kathleen Fobes -Jacoby (Robert), Cynthia Tomasek, Paula Alesnik (Terrence), Michele Anderson (John), and Paul Tomasek; grandmother of Sara, Bernie, Julie, Olivia, Nathan, Justin, Jeremy, Jocelyn, Cherea, Halle, and Mya; great-grandmother of Justin Jr., Jhayden, Kory, and Aleah; Former mother-in-law of Anitra. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents Andy and Helen Manchook; her siblings Ray Manchook, Dan Manchook, and Eleanor Cebul. She truly made our house a home. She was always there for advice or just a listening ear. She enjoyed simple pleasures an afternoon out to the movies, getting her hair done or lunch with a friend. She loved her flowers and making her outside space as beautiful as she could. She loved to put sheets on the laundry line to bring the freshness of outside inside. Above all she loved her family especially her children. Her face would light up when she held a baby. Family events were always memorable because of her love.
A remembrance gathering will be held Sunday, March 18 from 2-4 p.m. at Vito-Nero Funeral Home 6130 Turney Rd. (2 Blocks South of Rockside) In lieu of flowers the family asks that you support research for an Alzheimer’s cure. Contributions can be made to Jennings Center for Older Adults/Hospice 10204 Granger Rd. Garfield Hts., OH 44125.
