Powell “Pete”; Loving mother of Oren “Michael” (Elaine), Margaret Dorchack (Joseph), Catherine Milos (John), Constance Miller (Timothy) and Elizabeth (deceased); Devoted grandmother of Heidi (Doug), Christopher, Justin, Sarah, Cathleen (John), Crystal, Christina (Nick), Heather, Eric, Mark (Esther), Hannah (Tim), and Timothy (Sarah); Great grandmother of Sean, Corbin, Dean, Lexy, and Daisy; Dear sister of Florence Nece (Roger) and Elizabeth Schindelar (Frank) (all deceased); Dearest aunt and great aunt of many.
Elanor treasured her family, and was loved by all whose lives she touched. Wise and witty with a great sense of humor, she was also blessed with a beautiful singing voice. A woman of faith, she was always thankful for the help she received in her later years. She was a Girl Scout leader for many years, active in Maple Hts. Women’s Civic League, and held many other volunteer positions. She proudly graduated from Cleveland State at 61 years of age, fulfilling a life long dream.
Services Monday June 27 at 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home and 10:00 a.m. at St. Martin of Tours Church. The family will receive friends at Vito-Nero Funeral Home 6130 Turney Road (Two Blocks South of Rockside) Sunday 5-8 p.m.

Michael R. Bakos, 65, long-time resident of Garfield Heights, died at Cleveland Clinic on Friday, May 20, 2016, following a brief illness. He is survived by his children Maura V. Bakos (Michael Zitney) and David G. Bakos of Greater Cleveland. He is also survived by sister Barbara A. Bakos (Tom Beckett) of Kent, brother John J. Bakos (Sue) of Bonita Springs, Florida; nieces Mischa Beckett (Matt Journy) and Claire Hale (Michael), nephews Chris Bakos and Brandon Bakos (Nicole) as well as grand-nieces and grand-nephews. He was preceded in death by parents Ann (Hnath) and Joseph Bakos. Michael was a graduate of the CWRU Architecture program. During the 1970s-80s he was involved with the ARC Group, which designed and built improved social service institution environments and created the Bridges exhibit at the Cleveland Childrens Museum. Michael worked with Merrick House, West Side Community House, and the Community Land Trust of Greater Cleveland. Michael was a masterful gardener, bread baker, and meticulous craftsman, who is remembered by many as a kind and gentle soul. In keeping with Michael's wishes, there will be no funeral services.
A family gathering is planned to remember and celebrate his life.
